What we process when you visit

Polytested has no reader accounts, no comments, no newsletter and no contact form. When you open a page, your browser sends technical data: IP address, date and time, the page requested, browser and operating system, and the page you came from. Our providers process this data to deliver the site and keep it secure. We do not use it to identify you or to build profiles. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a working and secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

If you write to us

If you email us, we use your address and your message only to answer you. Cloudflare's email routing forwards messages sent to contact@polytested.com to our mailbox. We delete the conversation when it is no longer needed, unless the law requires us to keep it. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, or Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if your message concerns a contract with us.

Service providers

We use these providers as processors (Art. 28 GDPR), each under its data processing agreement:

  • Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Ave #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA, hosts the site. Its network delivers the pages, and our server functions run in Frankfurt, Germany.
  • Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA, delivers our images and audio files from media.polytested.com, runs our domain's DNS and forwards our email.
  • MongoDB, Inc., USA, runs our database (MongoDB Atlas) in Frankfurt, Germany. It stores the site's content and our editors' accounts, but no data about readers.

Transfers outside the EU

Vercel, Cloudflare and MongoDB are US companies. They are certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, for which the European Commission has adopted an adequacy decision (Art. 45 GDPR). Their data processing agreements also include the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR).

How long data is kept

The request logs in our hosting account are deleted after one day at the latest. Cloudflare keeps no request logs for us. Emails are deleted once the matter is closed, unless the law requires us to keep them.

Cookies and tracking

We set no cookies for readers and use no analytics or tracking tools. Fonts are served from our own domain. Details: Cookie policy.

Links to tools go through polytested.com/go/…. We may count the click, but we store no data about you. Your browser then opens the vendor's site, where its own privacy policy applies.

Ads

We show no ads at the moment. Before we do, we will update this policy and ask for your consent where it is required.

Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability, and the right to object to processing based on our legitimate interests (Art. 15–21 GDPR). To use them, write to contact@polytested.com. You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the EU country where you live or work (Art. 77 GDPR).

Changes

We update this policy when our setup changes, for example before we show ads. The date at the top shows the current version.
